What every rock bass player needs to get started quickly and become proficient on fretless bass.

Tony Franklin, who has played with The Firm, Blue Murder, and others, shows you how to play scales, fretless markers, how to use your right hand, string popping, and much more. There is also a jam with Carmine Appice and David Michael Phillips (King Kobra). This is what every rock bass player needs to get started quickly and become proficient on fretless bass.

  • haha. around 25:50 is the riff Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin, or his rendition of it. It' s funny because Tony Franklin played with Jimmy Page (Zeppelin. I feel stupid for explaining, but :\) who made The Firm.

  • is this available on dvd ? anyone ?

  • ah tony !....your a funny bugger ...its my intention to record with you one day - yeh right.

  • a really great bass player, he really suited playing with blue murder, too bad that lineup never recorded more albums together, a super great musicians band

  • Cool! I don't have to find a VHS player to watch this anymore!!!

  • @frostbyteSB Yeah, I was surprised to see a Jaydee site around considering the age of the video and the fact that small shop custom bassess are few and far between. Prices not too bad considering. I think I'll just go with his signature Fender P-Bass fretless. : )

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance Probably very unlikely (and finding a fretless would be even harder!!).

I was checking out the Jaydee website and apparently you can order a bass directly from the company but you'll have to wait over a year to get it (because they're handmade) and the lowest price for one is about $1400!!

  • @frostbyteSB Thanks mate! Chances of finding one in Canada will be difficult, eh?

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance It's a JAYDEE bass built in England by John Diggins.

  • What kind of bass is that? It has a great sound.
