@dougbalt you know, ive never actually seen/listened to any of her interviews, because theyre ALL in french haha

@skitzo429 You're right that her lower notes are muddy. She admits this in a number of interviews. It doesn't make as much of a difference when she sings regular coloratura rep that wasn't originally written for a mezzo. And her brilliant high notes make me forget about the low notes pretty fast.

@hotazzoperastud Yes, June is by far the greatest soprano ever to sing Rossini's roles (my feelings only, so other people are allowed to differ) . . . I think even better than Isabella Colbran herself, for whom Rossini wrote many of the roles.
-
I wonder if she's the uncredited singer on my mixed tape. Took me long enough to find out the name of the song.
-
she really doesnt have the low notes for this aria (it is a mezzo role, after all), some sopranos can pull off the low Gs and sound alright, June cant unfortunately. Also, her hair is disgusting here.

What about Callas and Bartolli???
-
dont sops have enough rep? why do they have to steal from mezzos? lol
-
pourquoi? these videos are the ones which are not commercially available. Alors, the one in which callas sings this would not count..
I love Annderson, and she proves why she was able to sing so much Rossini throughout her career. Brava this is wonderful 5/5

Roberta Peters and Edita Gruberova sing it in F mayor ending of a high F. So it is transposed by some...but up and not down.
