1976 VOLKSWAGEN CAMPER - ROUGHING IT?

HERE IS A VERY RARE ORIGINAL LOW MILEAGE ICON FROM THE PAST. IT HAPPENS TO BE A SECOND OWNER VOLKSWAGEN BUS CAMPER. THIS VEHICLE IS EXTRAORDINARY. FIRST BECAUSE YOU DON'T SEE MANY VW BUS AROUND, SECONDLY BECAUSE ITS IN PRISTINE CONDITION, THIRD, BECAUSE ITS A RARE CAMPER EDITION, AND FOURTH BECAUSE ITS AN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR. FEATURES INCLUDE SWIVEL FRONT SEATS, LUGGAGE RACK OVER THE CAB, A FUNCTIONING GAS STOVE, REFRIGERATOR, KITCHEN TABLE, STORAGE, POP-UP CAMPER TOP THAT SLEEPS TWO, A FOLD OUT FUTON THAT SLEEPS ANOTHER TWO, A CHILD'S HAMMOCK, AND A ROLL-OUT AWNING, IDEAL FOR SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE SHADE. THERE ARE TWO BATTERIES SHOWN IN BACK. ONE IS FOR THE VEHICLE ITSELF, AND THE OTHER FOR ALL CAMPER ACCESSORIES. THIS VW BUS IS ALL ORIGINAL, BOUGHT NEW IN '76, SAT IN STORAGE FOR 14 YEARS UNTIL BOUGHT FROM THE ORIGINAL FAMILY. THE ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE AND COVER IS STILL MOUNTED IN FRONT. A blast from the Gas Crisis! I remember these along highways in lines (long lines), waiting for gas pumps. They used to call them Busses and the ones without windows were called Panelwagons (-trucks). The spare tires rarely ever had their covers. You got this'n fixed up nice. Thanks for the memories.

@55lincoln I'd say just now you'll need pontoons on that camper! lol So far this winter's been a rainy one--at least here.

@richardelam100 Strange winter weather everywhere, including here in Missouri. Temps in the teens, the next day temps in the 60's. Maybe I'll camp on high ground! Thanks again and still praying brother.

@55lincoln I have a pen-pal in West Virginia who reports the same kind of weather pattern for this winter: below freezing one day, hot the next. I can remember rainy winters here about 12 or 15 years back; we retain cold temps, just no frozen ground. I think we actually got some tiny snowflakes in the air the other day, but it didn't stick.

@uRabbit I don't know of any more details on this VW van but I can tell you that the color is Viper Green. I luv this van also, makes me want to camp out again only in this. Wouldn't that be fun? Thanks for enjoying.
