@mrherbal [Continued] However I can't help but notice that the Iranians don't seem to feel the need to continuously (or ever) apologise for their past Empires and likewise The Italians , Mongolians , Nigerians, Ghanaians,Swedes, Iraqis, Turks, Spaniards,Mexicans, Russians Chinese, Dutch,Japanese et al! How strange!

Finally, regardless of what you may believe. Colonialism is widely regarded as morally unjustifiable in todays Britain - I don't know a single person who thinks otherwise.

@mrherbal I don't understand your point..I get the impression you don't actually know what the Commonwealth is.The clues in the name.Its voluntary. Besides, Like the vast majority of Brits today its perfectly clear to me that Colonialism has been judged morally wrong and has thus been largely consigned by history.......

@lodhol What stupidity? For a start its a well known fact it was impossible to invade Britain. Also the British had an Empire & 1/4 of the world 2 protect they were over extended. Also you seem to think France 1940 was a great victory, The French were weak incapable of fighting a war. The British had 13 Divisions in France outnumbered.

@lodhol In France 1940, The British sent the BEF 13 Divisions. The Germans attacked with over 152 Divisions. And yes we all know what happend at Dunkirk, The Greatest escape of the war- 300,000 British & French troops escaped to fight anouther day. The problem with Britain, They had to protect an Empire & 1/4 of the world. Also i never said that the U.K is the strongest in the world, But we are 1 of the strongest. It was impossible to even invade Britain, How could they defeat the British lions?
