Newegg probebly got it mixed up, you got a sample package intel uses to show pwople sizes, shapes, ect. I had a product that didn't work, they replaced it for free and didn't even charge shipping :)

Hmm..I didn't think Microcenter sold anything online. I always had to go to the brick-and-mortar stores. I think the Intel CPUs are only available in-store. Probably some non-compete agreement they have so they can sell them for so cheap.

No- this is actual fraud. supergrendel ordered a CPU & fan, not a block of aluminum and a lump of plastic moulded to look like a CPU fan. This is not 'bad luck,' it's outright fraud with no small amount of premeditation.
