  • Nope. Actually they ended up being a color variant of Loiselli.

  • how is it that you are able to get small fish that aren't even close to full grown to breed? What process do you use to get them to pair off and then successfully breed?

  • I really don't do anything special. They just do. We have great water for CA cichlids here in NE Pennsylvania.

  • They do look similar to Managuense. A couple things make them different. For one the coloration is UN-Managuense with a blue sheen on the dorsal and upper body...body shape is different. We collected these with a couple well known Central American fish experts. We weren't certain on what they were and are currently in the process of having DNA tests done to determine species. They are a young pair with the male about 7". They are the only two fish in a 180 gallon tank.

  • they look like wild caught mang to me, pretty sure they are,  just a different tributary

  • They look like P managuense. what would be the differences between this and P managuense? Also how much do the pair measure? THey look like a young pair. How large is your tank?
