I live in baumholder, but it isn't snowing yet T_T.. I have been here for about 5 years and i still love it! This place never gets old C;

What exactly are you doing in Baumholder, "what" is there? I just know it from an exercise while my conscription time (Bundeswehr). We drove finally through the american sector and it looked not really like military......and you have an balcony and a playground? Do you live there? I'm sorry, but it was completely strange for me.....can someone tell me, please? Thx

we were living there for three years... military people has family and kids that live with them i hope that answers your question

man I miss baumholder I was there also from 94 to 98 I stayed in Wetzel housing

I was stationed there from May,1967 to Nov 1969. Yep two and a half years with the 25th APU I was in the Post Office before "going postal" was cool! Back then Baumholder - commonly referred to as the Hell Hole - was a training manuever stopover for troops (primarily infantry, armor + artillery) that were being trained to go to Nam. Thank god, the Tanzhalle in Idar Oberstein + a few nice Gasthauses in Kusel were only 20 minutes away. All in all, not a bad tour -

definately not a tourist dest.

Lived there 75 -78 and worked at the Golf course TDY, for 2 + years great times,and some good friends, of course it was a different kind of Army then, better for the troops anyways, thanks for the vid, brought back some good memoties

I was stationed there in 1961-1963 with the 16th Inf. 26th Inf and 68th Armored were also there.

HAY I USED TO LIVE N BAUMHOLDER BACK N 1984-1985 WHEN MY DAD WAS STATIONED THERE... THE WETZEL AREA! LOOKED JUST LIKE THAT WHEN WE LEFT TO COME BACK HERE TO THE UNITED STATES N 1985! I MISS THOSE DAYS! LOVED GERMANY!!!

i lived in wetzel while they were putting in the new balconies, sucked big time. hated being there but now i wish i could go back

Wow it hasn't changed since '87. That's Smith Housing, right? I remember it wasn't the best, but I had great friends there and we made the best of it. Thanks for sharing!
