I read up on it. that was a common bug in the first releases of 5 on computers with lower specs during updates. works fine now.

Its never caused any bsod to me. Be sure your program and data base is up to date as in forum there talk about a new build is soon. So if its still happaned your bsod like you said try to upload to their ftp. They will take a look on it im sure. For sure for me there no bug problem. More its come more that its got less complain about those thing. And if people scare because of this. Its normal that avast! got bug. Its has a nice UI and a program 100 % no bugs its dont exist. So give him 1 sec.

my fav is the popups! haha althought it may cause a BSOD which sucks but its worh it

Also the new avast! 5.0 update are quick. If you compare it to Avira the update is very slow and some time its fail. So its important to be up to date now a day.
-
haha I switched to it. the old avast sucked but WOW big improvement
-
Dude the new avast! 5.0 is out and owned Avira on a simple default test look the review on Cudge channel

I use the same setup only also I use the windows defender and firewall but a good freeware firewall thats better than windows would be nice. any suggestions?
-
dude. also the new avira detects scripts.

If you say that with these 2 programs you'll be 100% safe, you're stupid! You can't be 100% safe from malware, even if you use every tool that you can use!
You need a full layerd security! I use:
G DATA InternetSecurity 2010
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware free edition
SUPERAntiSpyware Professional
Sandboxie
ThreatFire
VirusTotal Uploader
Windows Defender

people may argue but i do alot of testing myself and avira is still my favorite among all next to that id have to say nod32 also your right mbam is one of the best antimalware programs to add on if you are a windows user as it has excellente rogue detection witch is what a majority of antviruses miss
Avira is a joke btw. He think his web guard is really good but in return he cant detect new script like Avast! do really great on this ways and scanner too. Avast! + MBAM Free would be another good choice.

Cmon dude, who gives a shit about the script stuff. Avira blocks common viruses. Tell Avast to work up there definitions on normal everyday viruses.
