We successfully navigated the subway this morning to attend the world's largest church, Yoido Full Gospel Church. There membership is a whopping 800,000...no I did not type too many zeros. They have SEVEN services on Sunday mornings. There are varying reports on how many the main auditorium and balcony seats...but the smallest number I found was 12,000 and the largest was 35,000...and this place was PACKED. They also have seating areas throughout the multi-story building with large projection screens showing the service. We wore headsets which had the sermon being translated into English simultaneously. It was definately a once in a lifetime experience.

This video clip is just a short glimpse of the end of the "rush hour" traffic coming into the second service. People were literally running into the church building to get a good seat. I have NEVER seen anything like that. Y'all back home watch this video and maybe we can try this one Sunday...Ronnie wouldn't know what to do if we all came sprinting into church. :o)

  • Praise God

  • 800,000! WOW!

  • 0_0 wow!!!!

  • Well in a word yes, it remindes us of who he is helps engage all the sences on God, and those before us as saints, we belive they are in heaven and that they still pray for the world and are part of us as the church in heaven with God at the head and us as his hands and body.

The old testament had articals that were venerated also, the ark of the covnent, the minorah as the symbol of God resideing eternaly in the Temple on the mount.

so in a word yes, we pray to God not to the statue.

  • Well, would you call bowing to an image believe to be the face or body of Christ biblical?

  • no, there is not, maybe a few hundred to a few thousand inside, or outside. I did not get to see when I was in rome last summer, But I can tell you St. Peters is no small church at 857,000 square feet. bigger then most wharehouses here in the United States.
