The 74-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate has come to Switzerland to hold talks and lectures on Buddhism and world peace. (Raffaella Rossello, swissinfo.ch, 04.08.2009)

  • me too very shame for swiss govt for not welcoming him, anyway majority educated people in this world are respecting this man of peace HH Dalai Lama. Wakeup wakeup UNO, Not only Tibet, China occupied the world.

  • terrible i'm very ashamed of my goverment at least one of the seven "Bundesräte" could of lifted his ass and welcomed the dalai lama if he were some chinesse politician they would have welcomed him.

In 1848 Alexandre Dumas pere wrote The man in the Iron Mask . 'Coincidentally' in the same year The society of Jesu(Jesuits) were ousted from France for the second time. The Society of Jesus(Jesuits) have been kicked out of 82 countries.

  • Bon - Should he say he is disappointed ? No - he wouldn't give any inconveniences for the Swiss Government.

    The invitation was just to an event to say: Thank you Switzerland !

    Maybe they don't deserve that and that's why they felt uncomfortable to accept it : -)

  • Well can't blame anyone. The government is probably busy :) and the Dalai Lama said that he was not disappointed that there were no swiss government officials..

  • We very upset for Swiss Govt for not welcoming him. A natural Country should Respect this Man of Peace Dalai Lama & Tibet People living in Swiss. Shame China
