I'd suggest reading Arizona v. Gant before making any comments.

**THIS IS NOT A VIDEO ON HOW TO BEAT A SPEEDING TICKET. IT IS HOW TO REFUSE A SEARCH.**
In this video reenactment, some college students are stopped by a police officer. The driver exercises his constitutional rights and goes on about his way.

Check out my other videos to see what could have happened if he waived his rights.

This video is produced by www.flexyourrights.org and is endorsed by the ACLU and other legal organizations

  • This won't work because the cops will arrest you. Saying no to a cop will only make the beating worse.

  • @Nebzz Then perhaps you should just put him in your mouth.

  • 4 and a half minutes that I'll never get back... never.

  • @louiselouiise Yeah and just think, that's time you could have spent watching your grandmother take a shower.

  • @bart40330. what state do you reside in? Reason why I'm asking is bc Texas law is somewhat different.

  • @garciarolandr There's nothing special about Texas. Each state has different laws. Some are the same. Still, arrest while driving a car is not an automatic search of the car.

  • I'm stunned by those who seem more than a little offended that anyone would demand their rights. In my eyes it is clearly in your own best interest. A right not exercised is a right abdicated. In a situation like this, you are likely beyond the point of a warning, and the officer is actively looking for something greater to bust you on. Whether you are guilty of something or as lily white as the driven snow, it is YOUR responsibility to demand your rights.

  • Why didn't you ask the officer for his ID? Why are you following orders? Why didn't you charge that officer some money for "YOUR" time? Dude you just lost your first court apperance. Now you have to see that fictitious person whose wearing a black robe and sitting in an elevated box. AKA the judge. I thought we didn't want tickets/jail time. better luck next time. P.S. Did you sign the constitution? Are you a party to that constitution?

  • this video saved my fucking life. after being arrested twice for weed possession, i checked this out and other "flex your rights" videos, and was subsequently pulled over a few days later with some weed locked in a bag in my car. If i hadn't learned my rights and the proper way of asserting them, i would be in jail right now. THANK YOU

  • This won't work when you're dealing with the LAPD.

  • @louiselouiise At least you save the 10min it took him to write the ticket

  • The driver was very polite and cooperated. The cop was an arrogant (BEEP). Can the driver file a complaint against the cop for unprofessionlism? I can understand if the driver resisted in some sort of way,THEN, the cop could act like a (BEEP).

This scenario is not 100% belivable. The (BEEP) cop did not even question or background checked the passengers. Typically, the cop would yell at them to sit down in the dirt.

I hate cops. They're more of a nuisance than law enforcement.

  • I don't know, after watching the guy in the green shirt at the end, the cop has reason to search for drugs.

  • I liked the next level.
