  • Couldn't hardly hear the 1st trumpet at 2:19 -___- come on, i know it's a big band, but u gotta listen for that Trumpet!

  • @Jaydabeast5000 There was only 1 trumpet on the high octave.

  • @Victrevor2 I know this. Hence "Trumpet" singular noun. I'm in ninth grade and play this in my band. I'm also first, so i know the part divides. Don't get me wrong, the whole thing was Very good. They did a fantastic job. All I was saying was that I could've heard that one trumpet a bit more. Despite the size of the band. But overall, they did very good!

  • @Jaydabeast5000 But when talking about a part it's singular, like first part, second part, etc. I thought that's what you meant. But yeah like you said the band is big, and one out of four on the high octave, it's going to have some trouble being heard. lol.

  • Anyone know who's conducting this? Is it Dr. Peter Boonshaft?

  • @yos313 yes it is

  • I agree. Too fast. I prefer it closer to 100 or 108. Ending is way to fast. I think the piece looses it character completely at that tempo.

  • This tempo is more the parade tempo and even still seems a tad fast. I'll remember British Eighth as long as live. We marched to it in contest at the 1967 Harvard Milk Day parade in Harvard Wisconsin. They painted the street white. The heat was unbearable and it was uphill. The 8th was such a stirring march I think it pulled us through. We won.

  • you can't hear the bells playing

  • This is a fine band. I think there is too much reverb in the hall though...makes it hard to get a good recording.

  • @ehelwagen .... I agree this is just a smidge too brisk for this piece.

  • Much better dynamics than most! Descant Trumpet needs to project. Try a trio on Descant Trumpet part. Tempo on part 2 started out great, then..... rushed to the end.

Other than that - articulation, attack, dynamics, balance, everything else nice job !
