I decided to start up a new series of reviews looking into Doctor Who episodes.

I will start with the brand new series starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillian. It is also the first episode with Stephen Moffat in charge of the show's format.

It is written by Stephen Moffat as well.

PLOT (SPOILER ALERT)
The episode picks up from the ending of The End of Time. The Doctor has just regenerated and is crashing back towards Earth. After narrowly avoiding a collision with Big Ben, the TARDIS crash lands in the back garden of the young Amelia Pond in the small village of Leadworth. Amelia takes him inside and helps him satisfy his strange food cravings before taking him upstairs to show him the crack in her bedroom wall. The Doctor discovers it is not just a crack in a wall, but a crack in time and space itself, and on the other side is a prison run by the Atraxi. The Atraxi deliver a warning to the two: Prisoner Zero has escaped, but before the Doctor can help further he is interrupted by the TARDISs Cloister Bell: if not stabilised the engines will incinerate. The Doctor needs to pilot the TARDIS into the future to stop the engines from phasing.

The music used in the intro is "Feelin' Good" from http://www.incomptech.com and it is a royality free music site.

  • have you going to do series 1,2,3and4 or are you just going to do series 5?

  • @TheSilvernemesis at the moment Series 5, I may do other series in the future and the classic era ones from 1963 to 1989.

  • @BarryAldridge Have you done any of DavidTennant's Doctor Who?

  • My first time seeing this review. I was in Orlando at the time and caught the first 5th series online while in the hotel. I think I first ran into your reviews halfway through the series.

  • @Kanuskiz yep, what i thought as well... Or The Doctor actually met rose in 2004.

  • I only recently realized that until series 4, Doctor Who timeline was 1 year ahead of the viewers (since Doctor accidentally skipped a year in Aliens in London in series 1). Thus the events of 2009 TV specials were taking place in 2010. Which means that, while the Atraxi event was taking place in 2008, (sometime before the Dalek invasion of series 4 in 2009!), the series 5 mostly takes place in 2010, returning to viewers' time, when 10th Doctor was still active. Or am I wrong...?

  • karan jillan lol

  • This was a good episode. I love the food part and Amelia's reactions. This made me like the new doctor. Also I like the roof top scene when he asks the eye if the planet is protected. I like how he was still regenerating the whole episode and stumbling around because of it.

  • Matt Smith is the best Doctor in my opinion
