Ich frage mich, wenn die Menschen über die Russen vergessen?

I watched in admiration as those elderly men - 80 plus paraded and then STOOD in the pouring rain whilst our dear prime minister and younger dignatories stood in the nice dry area. They did not do the fighting for our country !!!! There will be many elderly men today feeling the ill effects of their parade. My father fought and if he had been alive now and attended I would have been very concerned.

D-Day always chokes me up, all the WW2 veterans donning their medals and berets proudly.
Regardless of what side they were on, German, British, American they all deserve more respect than anyone can ever give them

You are kind of correct. You guys can't forget about America's first generation! They fought in the Revolutionary War, and that's how America got it's freedom in the first place. Now don't get me wrong, I do think that the generation that went through the Great Depression and WW2, that they are one of the "Greatest" Generations in American history
Irritating Hollywood bullsh-- interspersed with the real people who did it, not just Americans, for the record. Just some more of how America won the war so it could screw it up in its own time. Can we get rid of this romantic Tom Hanks crap please? My two dead uncles (both killed in Normandy) find it annoying.
