Well, the anime/manga is about a work-for-hire mercenary team, taking place in the early 90s. It's kinda like Hellsing Ultimate in terms of maturity and what not, just minus the horror and supernatural element. The anime is pretty action-packed, but contains many mature themes, and can get pretty emotional at times. I'll take that part about "little to no direct comedy" back because it is considered black/ dark comedy, and was pretty funny. BL is one of my favorite animes ever.
