I'm trying to get drop down lighting, but instead of one block, it has three in a delta pattern...then it retracts and another delta a few blocks ahead does the same

whats wrong with just using the design for the wall lighting and turning it 90 degrees?

that would mean moving the redstone controlling the pisons too and that would make it impossible

you should of just used a piston T-flip flop a lot smaller then.

I got a nice way of a lightstone floor controling with pistons. Its pretty compact and easy to understand :D

all you really need for it to go up and down is a switch a couple of redstone torches, some redstone dust and a sticky piston lol

you should make it so it adds a fence above the light stone so it looks like a chandler

i think not haveing the lightstone protruding would be better. make the room seem more smooth and would involve less redstone shiz :D
