  • Great takeoff! Has rained???

  • It has rained the day before...

  • Sounds like the first flight of the day in that Saab with the engine test there before full throttle ;)

I'm cabin crew for these in the UK, lovely aircraft.

And yeah, they are powerful- 8000BHP!

  • Yes, it's the first flight of the day, at about 8 AM. The Saab 2000 is definitely my favorite airliner ... I know, not a typical choice among Airbuses and Boeings :-)

  • Great clip.I think it's 'Fly Baboo',i have the same, but without sounds,(not the aircraft, the video)lol.Ought to do another filming on my next trip.

  • Thanks! It's actually a Swiss flight operated by Darwin Airline (Lugano-Zurich).

  • Used to be a flight tech on the factory back in Sweden 12 years ago. The most sofisticated turbo prop for its time.

Glass cockpit, active noise, fast, holds climbing record, and yeah 8000bhp powered by Allison. 0-180km/h in 13 sec =)

  • holy crap that thing has acceleration! :O

  • @greengoblin200

this thing goes off like a rocket. 2000 fpm climb rate easy. I had the great pleasure to be a cockpit guest on the observer seat into Lugano and out.

  • One of my saddest moments has been captured in this video- I hope to return to Lagano one day...J/Long Beach,CA./USA

  • Done this many times before. Brings back memories... Going there very soon! :)

  • No, Darwin Airlines

  • OLT?

  • oh man, I wish I could fly one of these.. I don't know if I have any chance with a non-jaa (just plain icao) cpl-ir with 200some hours..

  • Omg wow man! A 747 Jumbo only gets 2 probably around 100 km/h in 13 secs, even a 737 probably around 130-140 in 13 secs, depending on the load. Can u tell me how long it takes 2 get from 0-100 km/h? Those figures seem similar 2 a concorde. Thx man.
