He wanted to show us how to create a simple C++ program. Not some BAT file. Try making a game in notepad and post a video of you playing it. For stuff like to display hello world on your screen it would be more efficient to use a BAT file. Anything else? It isn't possible with BAT files. C++, Java, Basic, Objective-C or C# are needed to make intricate programs and this is just a beginner tutorial.
