"The Edge of the Stream," original song based on poem by Christina Rossetti. One of my songs for the 2009 RPM Challenge (http://www.RPMChallenge.com). "This is The Challenge - Record an album in 28 days, just because you can. Thats 10 songs or 35 minutes of original material recorded during the month of February. Go ahead put it to tape." I recorded and mixed this and 10 other songs in less than a week.
Once in a dream
I saw the flowers
That bloom and bud in Paradise
More fair they are than any have seen
In our world of waking eyes.
Once in a dream
I saw the fourfold River flow
And deep it was with golden sand
With murmured music grave and low
It flowed between a mossy land
Once in a dream
Each bird sat singing in his place
I heard the songs of Paradise
A tender song so full of grace
It soared like incense to the skies
Each bird sat singing to his mate
Soft cooing notes among the trees
The nightingale herself were cold
To songs sung such as these.
Once in a dream
I saw the gate called Beautiful
And looked but scarce could look within
I saw outskirts of the glassy pool
And saw the golden streets begin.
I hope to see these things again
But not as once in dreams by night
To touch to handle and attain
To see them with my very sight.
Once in a dream
I saw the flowers
That bloom and bud in Paradise.
