There was a frozen waterfall in wildcat canyon at starved rock state park. behind the frozen falls, there was a little hidden area/cave.... the falls were 70 feet tall - a monster. the ice was huge and little beads of water constantly dipped down the side of it.

  • @Tomeperuser No, I didn't see any evidence of bears, but I did see some bald eagles and a few smaller forest animals.

the eagles were really neat to watch - they would perch on the ice while hunting for fish.

  • Really nice video. Thanks for posting. Did you see any evidence of the bears while you were there? Best regards, Tome

  • it was sooo beautiful!! i was worried about the ice too, but i was just careful and made sure i had on my best winter boots with grips!! it was slippery but it was definitely worth all the pictures - especially when i saw a bald eagle flying over head!!

  • Very cool! I need to make a trip down there in Wintertime... but I'm a little worried about icy conditions in trails and all the steps!!!
