Senior Resources of Guilford One Away Campaign Video

Senior Resources of Guilford is the North Carolina Local Advocacy Partner with the National Council on Aging's (NCOA) One Away Campaign. The One Away Campaign seeks to raise the awareness of our elected officials in Congress and our local community about elder economic insecurity and the reality that many senior citizens are one meal, one lost job, one foreclosure, or one event away from economic crisis. The One Away Campaign also stresses the importance of Congress reauthorizing the Older Americans Act (OAA), the federal legislation that authorizes home- and community-based services that support the independent living of older adults. OAA programs include home-delivered meals, congregate meals, senior centers, information and assistance, case assistance, transportation, and caregiver support. This video features an older adult from Rockingham County, North Carolina, and illustrates the importance of the OAA's home-delivered meals program.
