A mix of some of my favorite period drama characters (old fashioned girls) set to the main titles of Dear Frankie. No way could I fit them all, so many good characters out there, but here are a few of the best.

I do not claim any of the elements of this video (music, characters..etc..) to be mine. I merely put them together and hope you'll enjoy!

Movies that I took the pictures from;
(In order of appearance)
Pride and Prejudice (1995)
Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea
The Importance of Being Ernest
Emma (1996)
Sense and Sensibility
Jane Eyre (1983 Timothy Dalton/Zelah Clarke)
Lorna Doone
Wives and Daughters
North and South (2004)
And one picture from my Digital of my best friends and me at an old fashioned picnic. You won't find that one on a screen-cap site, I'm afraid. ;)

  • what's the movie at 1:39?

  • @thehillbill709 The Importance of Being Earnest. :)

  • This is really nice!

  • @MizPriscilla Thank you! :)

  • When women were women. Bless them all.

My favourite, its got to be little Molly Gibson, its the innocence and integrity combined that i adore.

  • @Woodlander65 Oh, I love her! And I've felt like her a few times as well; trying to keep everyone's secrets and being weighed down by it all.

Yes, bless womanhood and those that embrace it gracefully! :)

  • This is something I love. I have decided as of last week to dress more modestly and feminine, with beautiful flowing skirts and dresses, just to feel the beauty and femininity that comes with womanhood. I encourage all ladies out there, to embrace your femininity , elegance, and ladyness. It's something beautiful that should not be pushed away, by dressing unisex rather we should cherish being a lady, we are so lucky to be ladies.

  • oh this is perfectly lovely!

  • Does anyone know of a list of the more lighthearted period pieces? (I may have seen them all, but who knows?) I started trying various period dramas and they were all, well, TOO dramatic. I started feeling like I was in a soap with no trace of humour and my suspension of disbelief flaps off through the window.

  • @bethiemw I agree with you, when God made you it was one of his very finest moments.

A good woman is worth much more than the most precious jewels, and i thankyou for it. Bless all old fashion girls.

  • If you are ofended do not bother reading this well I think todays women are VERY Inproper and as far it is most today are ugly some are pretty but thats because there not lazy sofa potatos and watching stupid reality TV. seriosley peope reality TV. is stupid and celeberties are not the best thing in the world and todays women dont act proper and liikreal ladies so stop calling them that just call them gals Honistley you all should know PROPER WOMEN HAVE BEEN LOST.

  • @Sei1863 Oh wow! I can't believe it's been incorrect all these years! That's pretty embarrassing. I do know the difference... I just have too-fast typist hands. :P Thank you for pointing that out!

  • It's not "old fashion". It's "old fashioned." They're two different things.
