Anche io credo che qui Rigoletto perda completamente il controllo. Non mi piace tanto come la voce resta "calma" in contrasto con la musica. E' un momento di rabbia estrema, lucic è troppo poetico.

His approach is a little too poetic for my taste. I need more drama, more sarcasm, and more anger in ths role in order to feel it fully.

His top is great. I just prefer other interpretations with less sliding around pitches; there's less core voice. I don't see how that adds anything to the drama.

And you would know? I work in the business, and two singers at the top of the profession (one considered to be the leading Verdi soprano of our time) have separately told me that this man is pretty much the only authentic Verdi baritone singing today.

Just got back from Rigoletto in Croatian National Theatre-Zagreb... Lucic was singing Rigoletto.... Never heard a baritone like that.... Incredible!!!!! Margareta Klobucar was Gilda and Carlos Cosías sang Duca!!!!
