http://www.thegentledentist.com/dental_implants.htm Dr. Antolak, The Gentle Dentist shows how simple and quickly 2 implants can be placed and dentures placed in this 90 year old woman. Dental implants are a great way to fasten down lower dentures that usually will move around in the mouth. She fell asleep during the procedure since she was so comfortable with Dr. Antolak and his staff. These implants help to reduce bone loss that would normally take place when teeth are extracted. For a few thousand dollars new dentures and implants are used to totally change patient's lives through healthier eating and functioning. This also eliminates the embarrassment of loosing a denture during social functions. You can contact Dr. Antolak at (586)247-3500 or email at DrAntolak@TheGentleDentist.com.

  • The patient is put on antibiotics a couple of days before and about 5 days after. This is to reduce risk of infection and increase the chance of success. Since she is not a smoker and in good health she is a good candidate. Age isn't a factor anymore as long as they are in good health. It is obviously a helpful procedure for her in that she can eat her food and the denture stays in place. If you have any questions please ask, Dr. Antolak

  • with the 2 implants, attachments, surgery and complete overdenture the cost is around $6000. They work very well. If you have more questions call us at 586-247-3500

  • would implants on the top make it possible to wear a denture without the palate being covered?

  • I just lost my last 6 top front teeth (my smile :( ) after battling to try to save my teeth after radiation for rare eye cancer. I have very narrow sharp gums and my lower denture bounces. tried cutting lingual labial. We don't have any health coverage for oral surgery here in Ontario Canada. I need the anchor implants badly but will never be able to afford them. I am only 47. I have 40 years to go. I have gone 4 years so far sustaining myself on fluids even my ensure isn't covered. :( cancer!

  • How was the patient prepared to make sure the surgery was safe given the age? Do you use antibiotics in such cases?

  • cost?
