@TOXIC8o3o1 180gallons of water weighs more than 1500pounds. no rimless tank can hold that much pressure without forcing the glass panels to unbuckle. no silicone is strong enough to hold the glass together. the black plastic rim is to keep the edge from unbuckling that will eventually snap the whole tank apart. the only other solution is acrylic tank. glass tanks are better for reef and saltwater because it gets less scratches during maintenance. sorry to hear you've been hated like a troll.

@TOXIC8o3o1 Let's see your rimless 180gallon or your eurobraced tank then, asshole! Your mom's disappointed she had an idiot like you.

@TOXIC8o3o1 I dont see what is wrong with black plastic. My doctor has one that he invested over 4,000 dollars into and it has a black trim on his.
Did you put some protection under the rocks?

@TheRafield Nope. I probably should have put some eggcrate down or something, but I haven't had any issues in 4 years or so.

@finger11yo
I've had a similar experience in changing from a shallow sand bed to bare bottom. As long as you keep you're skimmer functioning well, you're good to go.
