What a fight!!! alex reid has a steel chin!!! i couldnt take my eye's off the screen
great fight

IT'S the moment of truth for Mr Kate Price this weekend as Alex Red takes on Tom "Kong" Watson in the most anticipated cage-fight battle in living memory.

Watson has vowed that Reid will "be seeing stars - but not the Z-list he's used to" as the two go head to head in Birmingham on Saturday.

Many people are struggling to take Reid seriously as a fighter, between the cross-dressing, showbiz marriage and TV appearances - but Watson isn't underestimating his opponenet

Fightin' Talk Editor Patrick Lennon went to meet the man who plans to bring Alex Reid crashing down to earth from Planet Celeb.

There is nothing 'celebrity' about Tom Watson. The man is all business. And his business is mixed martial arts. Or more specifically this week, it's about smashing Alex Reid at the weekend.

The 26-year-old from Southampton is a pro from cover to cover in every aspect of his life. You won't find Tom on the front of women's weeklies, gay magazines or TV guides.

Nor will you see the softly spoken 6"1' champion fighter hanging out at glitzy celebrity parties, lazing on the beach or living the showbiz lifestyle which has seen Reid mauled by fans.

Tom -who is defending his BAMMA Middleweight belt - tells me: "I don't feel jealousy towards him - he can have all the publicity he wants but we're going to have a fight, and I'm looking to smash him out or sub him. I will finish this fight.

"He'll be seeing stars, but not the Z-list kind he's used to these days. "For me it's not about becoming a celebrity, it's about being a better mixed martial artist. If I can make more money and have a better life, then great."

Watson's focus is entirely on fighting, whereas Alex, 35, and wife Kate have media commitments cluttering up their schedules.

Between his TV shows such as Alex Reid Fights Back, the Celebrity Big Brother winner was left struggling for time to train earlier this year, got hurt, and pulled out of the first fight scheduled for May

.

Watson is training six hours a day, six days a week in boxing, Muay-Thai, jiu jitsu and wrestling. More importantly, he has also fought twice already this year. Reid's last fight was in September last year.

His diet is strictly monitored - low carb, high protein foods like broccoli and chicken and pulses to keep weight off, but ensure his engine room is primed and ready to roar on fight night.
