  • I used to see this band play at the " El Grotto" in Ilford during the Mid to late sixties. They were fantastic live. I think the lead singer had a false hand but he had a great voice and like the " Cymbaline ", who also played in the Ilford area, should have made it bigger than they did. I have three of their singles, " I Wanna Go Back There Again," My Baby's Coming Home" and their cover version of George Harrison's "Harekrishna"

  • @castleswifts Thanks for that information ! Nice to know they were a real band and not just a studio creation.

  • Great band ,i played guitar whith them as the Formula Five in the early 60s, the lead singer Mick Harper was without doubt one of the best voices in British Pop Music ,Mick sadly passed away on the 13 .1.2012 ,a great loss.

  • Just read your last post and I didn't know about the contract thing but it sounds like the kind of thing that Pye would do though! Have you checked out the web site?

  • It's too bad that Pye records did not give them much of a chance. In the liner notes of the Rubble Box Set, it said that their contract was torn up and burned. I have played Harekrishna and Stay Indoors and I think the band is truly awesome. I'm glad these guys are still playing music.

  • It brings back some memories for me too as I was the lead guitarist in the band. This link was sent to me by Bruce Carey, the bass player in the band. Yes, we are still alive and rockin'

  • Saw them regularly ay El Grotto and also at Scotch of St James. Had some good renderings of West Side Story songs (Theres a place for us/Maria). I have this record but didn't buy the others. I only went to El Grotto about 5 nights a week - sad
