Fedex Setting Up Shop in the Bike Lane

I had a talk with this fedex driver (91584JR, NY), pointed out to him that the USPS delivery truck across the street was able to deliver from its location across the street without blocking the bike lane. He had no explanation as to why he needed to cause this obstruction.

As stated about 5 times below, park on the other side of the street in front of the buildings you are making deliveries to, not next to the park (where you are not making deliveries) simply because the bike lane looks like an easy place to park.

Last 10 or so comments: I spent a few hours getting some video up on youtube to make my point, the rest of the time I have to spare on traffic reform (a very small percentage of my overall time) I spend DOING SOMETHING about it, and I've gotten plenty of results. It's obious you guys spend more time laboring over your puerile comments and surfing youtube than doing anything that has any effect.

last two commenters, I was born in New York University Hospital. I've lived in New York City my entire life. I've lived in every borough but Staten Island. The fact is the city is changing and if you can't deal with it, then its time for you to leave. The guys working this particular Fedex truck are clearly from another country, they have accents, but wlecome them with open arms as long as they stop using the bike lane as a personal parking lot.

But seriously, we couriers up here don't pay for the tickets. The company does. So you can film and file complaints all you want, but the driver won't pay a dime in the end.

The Fed Ex Driver was doing his job. And I might add doing it in the safest way possible without blocking motor vehicle traffic! The trust fund queer on the bike who has nothing better to do,should go around or wait! Bicycles are for kids. They are toys. Fed x does a great job.

I didnt have bike lanes when I was a teen and I didnt have any problems. What this boils down to is you dont deliver freight so you dont know what these guys go though. There is an old saying till you walk in someone elses shoes you just dont know.

first of all to park in that space would be extremely hard to park that big of a truck into. Second, even if he does get it in the space,he has no room to unload and do other things he has to do. Just saying.
