squirrels are beautiful, precious, creatures. i'd love to have one for a pet, if i could tame it, and it wouldn't die from being in captivity. :)

Most squirrels die by auto within their first year. If they pass this mark, they usually live to be 5 or 6 yr old. If a squirrel is kept in captivity they can live to 20 years or more. They make good out door friends, but not good house pets, as they chew, pee and poop every where. I just relesed one yeasterday! healed from car accident. Her name is Lucky, and squirrels really are awesome! like most other wildlife, feeding squirrels can tame them. Peace :-)
