Semi-Conducted was a programming / composition project made for my senior TIMARA Recital at Oberlin Conservatory. The piece is for quartet (flute, clarinet, violin, cello) and interactive video. The players follow a score represented on a computer screen and the audience sees video animation that responds to the players' notes. In this video, the players' score appears on the right and the audience's video appears on the left.
The piece is the culmination of a year's worth of work learning and working with a new piece of open source software called Field. This software is a hybrid of several digital art-making paradigms: primarily code (like Java, C++), visual programming (like Max/MSP), and drawing (like Photoshop, Flash).
