This is great. Teachers don't speak in common sense terms often enough.
Towards the beginning of the video you refer to "doing something algebraic" to the equation, namely expanding the squared term into a FOIL, in order to figure out the limit.
"Doing something algebraic."
The branches of mathematics are simply tools that you apply to... stuff. It's that simple.
The "operations" of arithmetic are simply a set of four simple spells you cast on numbers. From that point everything builds.

Hey Patrick how can I tell the distinct difference between a point of discontinuity and an asymptote? Is it that asymptotes only occur in rational graphs as an NPV?

@kunaichakra a vertical asymptote has a limit approaching infinity, a discontinuity does not
