@jasonh768 yeah .. the alclad chrome is a lot trickier to spray ,and the black undercoat has to be perfect, I,ve been practicing with it and might do a vid on it ,, I'm getting some really great chrome like shine with it !
the key is to not mist it from to far away and as few passes as possible,, the more coats the duller it gets. also 10 minutes between coats makes a big difference
@TheRocketSilo thanks bro speaking of chrome i just tried the alclad chrome today. thought i screwed it up cause it had a bit of a "dusty" look to it. gave it a buff with a piece of tee shirt after i watched this and now it looks perfect! though i must have greasy mits cause it seems to love fingerprints lol.
@jasonh768 only 2 non-buffing colors have a buffing version ,, also the non-buff colors have a more grainy metal look( think cast iron ) and different shades to their counterparts. Also many metals in real life are not high gloss.. I think everybody assumes that all these colors are supposed to shine like chrome and that's not the case with real life metal or with the metalizers. thanks for checking out the vids and for the comments bro !
@jasonh768 lol... no... not all all directed at anyone ,,, metalizers get a bad rap everywhere ,, and in most cases ,, they are not used as directed ..just showing how they are intended to be used .
what do you think about the non buff versions? ive heard there good for drybrushing but thats about it. basically what im asking is what would be the reason for using the non buff instead of the buffing metalizer?
those color chips you had in part one were sweet. might have to make one of those myself. this was definitely helpful. i think not spraying over gloss black was my fatal error when i tried them for the first time. first time tried was over a sanded surface, no primer or anything. i bet thinning them was what caused the poor adhesion as well (couldn't help but feel you were talking to me directly on that lol)
