Huh? They were both Careerists, neither of them gave a damn about the City - they never even pretended to. Some of Rhonda's scenes were almost impossible to watch she was so contemptible and indifferent..

@Shack83 That's part of my point tho. Him going through with exposing Carcetti not only would have brought him down, it would have brought her down with it. That's why she says that it would destroy her career as well. Truthfully I think they were supportive of each other professionally, which shows how mature they were considering their marriage was a reck.

@Antrizzle2009 I disagree. When he was being promoted from Lt. to major to Col/DeputyOps/Commissioner, he consulted her....this is true. But he stood by her side during her run for councilwoman, he was loyal to her post-divorce and made it look like they were still married for appearances sake during her run. Showing up in his uniform to functions, remaining upstairs when it was over, etc.
