No. You play as a marine in a story that takes place before the events of halo 3. The expansion is called Halo 3: Recon and is released fall 2009.
There is a new trailer somewhere that has more footage as well as this footage.

omg its a new campagin mode called "prepare to drop" i beleive that u will be an odst because thos things looked alot like drop pods..

The drop pods are definitley ODST ones. This is looking more and more like a campaign extension, due to the XBL marketplace description of this.
