    Keep in mind that this IS YouTube. Not everyone is as 'smart' as you. He (the host) has to dumb things down so that the video appeals to all age/education ranges i.e. so that anyone can understand the concepts that the elder gentleman is talking about.

    It's called personification, a literary concept; many of my professors have used it for explaining even far more abstract concepts.
