Buenos dias, senor, senora. I have truly enjoyed your documentary of the great Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda. I was introduced to his work by a teacher at university in 1971, and have loved it ever since.

I introduced him in turn to my old English teacher, and to many friends, reading his work in public when I read mu own poetry.

When he died in 1973 - along with socialist Chile - I wrote his obituary in the student magazine, Canta, with one for W H Auden.
