the trunpet solo is too uptight! and the drummer needs to mix up his drum fills. the same ol' fill gets boring. maybe work in the bass drum.

I'm trying to be in jazz band next year on bass, no freshman can be in it because it's so tough to make.

i think he means that the trumpet sounds lame. it has no pizazz to it, it sounds like a classically trained kid with his amazing classical set up sight reading the piece. its devoid of style. it sounds really easy. like, my schools freshman jazz band would probably play this and sound a tad worse
