The last song performed in Stodola, Warsaw, Poland, November 25th 2009. Alice in Chains tried to thank to the audience. Well, the crowd was really the best crowd I have ever seen at any rock gigs. Probably because the concert venue was small club (there were around 2000 people) instead of big stadiums full of accidental spectators. It was second time like William Duvall visited Poland (in 2007 in Katowice). He was pretty ok, not trying to copy Layne Staley, had nice contact with the audience, talkative, seemed like the concert was really fun for him and for entire band.
More, I have never seen like 2000 people sang such song without playing out of tune. As a matter of fact Duvall couldn't find one in Sickman and in some earlier songs. But with a little help of Jerry Cantrell all went well. Musician were really impressed by the audience's performance. Maybe you will not see this on my recording which was made on small cell phone. Sean Kinney's snare drum drumhead landed one meter away from me;-)
Well, after Pearl Jam's concert in 1996 and TOOL in 2001 it was the best show I saw. And just because you just could feel the fun the musicians played with.
I went to this concert thanks to my wife who organized the stay in hotel of Alice in Chains band and crew and thanks to Mr Chuck Randall, a tour manager.
Thanks!!!
