Proper care during pregnancy and childbirth is a lifesaver which is why we fund vital primary healthcare projects across the world, like our network of 21 clinics in rural Nigeria, bringing help to thousands of mothers, children and poor families.
Without the check-ups, care, vaccinations and advice these clinics provide, expectant mothers would have no proper medical care. Their alternative is to follow traditional birth customs, often with tragic consequences for them and their babies.
Sister Teclar Mukuli talks about the work of the clinic within the community of Yakoko, Northern Nigeria.
