she was a wonderful person
-
@stlgtrace And treated ALL people with kindness and unconditional love!
-
I love her attitude toward gay people but did she really believe for herself (like her son Jay Bakker) that it's not sin to live as gay? Not sure about that...
-
That lady practiced what she preached.

@Katiemadonna3 i agree with you, she really was a wonderful woman. i see some of these"christian" groups now, and she would have fought them for doing what some of them do.
-
gosh , APPLAUSE !!! Just think Tammy in looking back was the first to be caring enough to shed light on the love we should extend to all, and above all Applause for doing this on Christian Television. Shame on JF for his role in the demise of PTL

Tammy Faye new even before the fall of PTL that she was a gay icon. It's hard to complete dislike Tammy but objectively she was a vain, selfish, full of herself, silly woman who loved the opulent lifestyle and cried on televison claiming PTL was broke when she had a closet full of mink coats and six very expensive houses.

She was, yes, a sinner... like all of us...

That may well be, but given the wealth, influence and authority that Tammy Faye enjoyed keep in mind Luke 12: "To Whom Much is Given Much is Required". Tammy Faye bears a greater responsibility than someone of ordinary means has, of that there is no doubt.

I suppose so. I do not feel in a position at this point to review her life and shall leave that to others. That Steve Pieters was able to get his story out there in the 80's was, to me, a MOMENTOUS occasion that helped take the sting out of HIV/AIDS.

Man oh man...my father is a devout Christian and he informed me and my brother and sister, that if we were to tell him we were gay...he would'nt be able to talk to us or have anything to do with us anymore....glad that Tammy was so forgiving of this man.
