I do this review blindfolded. See if I am able to correctly identify this beer. Also I mention the launch of my new beer reviewing website. So check that out as well when you get a chance... www.jaysbeerreviews.webs.com

  • I swear, this beer tastes different every time I have one... The first 6 pack I ever bought tasted like a black IPA, the next like a sickly sweet porter, and the next like a roasty toasty dry nutty porter.

Apparently even the alcohol content of this beer has fluctuated over the years... it just can't make up it's mind about what it wants to be, you know? To the beer, I say "meh"

But to your review, I say thumbs up, lol.

  • @TheAlmightyFSM thanks brother... good nugget of info as well

  • Dumbass!

  • @danb247 ok...

  • I think this beer was intended to fool the senses. Actually a perfect choice for a blindfold review. I was even fooled when I bought it. I thought it was a stout. Only realized it said 'porter' after I poured it.

  • agreed, whens the last time you had a hoppy porter? i think the wife was trying to trick me.

  • @TheAlmightyFSM Correction, 4 pack***

  • OK clearly this guy is a fucking idiot. Lost Continent? LMFO what a dueche. I wont be visiting his review site anytime soon. Clown.

  • yeah thats what threw me off so much. but i did miss the toasted notes.

  • Gonzo Imperial Porter is EXTREMELY hoppy when it's fresh, I have found that the flavor varies every time I buy it. Sometimes it's a roasty toasty porter with just a hint of hops in the background, other times it tastes like a REALLY serious IPA/Barleywine with some roasted flavors.

All depends how recently it was brewed, it's not a fast selling beer and hop oils fade with age.
