Indian workers sue US oil firm over abuse - 14 Mar 08

A shipyard in the US state of Mississippi is accused of using a "guest worker" programme to exploit hundreds of workers from India.

The skilled welders and pipe fitters claim Signal International lured them to the country with false promises of a green card.

The workers say the company forced them to live in inhumane conditions and threatened them when they protested.

Signal International are some greedy sob's-This happened not just in Pascagoula but all up and down the gulf coast. They brought these indians in and did not even try to hire local craftsman even though there was lots of local talent that was out of work.

. .They hired foreigners thinking that they would not complain about safey. All of the Gulf Coast shipyards and repair companies do this-Gulf Copper,Bender Marine. Greed,pure and simple.......

im in mexico twice a month. came to this country with 5 brothers and sister. i know how it is to struggle and be poor. i do very well and pay taxes.many illegal mexicans come to work here and the

money they earn head back to mexico

and use that money to start a business. they know they are visiting and do they go thru the proper channels to become legal. nothing is a promise. im sure you expect the government to do everything for you, but sometimes things dont work out.
