This Documentary received 1st place at the Wyoming State History Day competition, earning us a trip to Maryland to compete in the National competition where it earned no honors whatsoever despite good judge remarks. Better luck next year I guess!!!

  • Great job, I shared your video on my page The Men of Old Hollywood on facebook.

  • @staclynn72 I really appreciate that! thank you for watching and sharing it means a lot!

  • While the information was valid, I really only would like to say that the presentation was extremely cliched, try to use classical/period music not Kanye West and Rise Against. Also, when looking at Audie I can see the potential for his impacts, however, you talk about what his life exposes about American life. Sadly, you failed to truly analyze HIS impact.

  • I really appreciate the feedback, bro. Obviously the music is a little controversial, but it was a decision on my part as I feel that newer music makes the information more compelling and in a competition where judges may watch 10 other documentaries before they see this one, I think it makes it stand out a little more.

  • also it makes it more enjoyable to inform this generation of a great hero that many have never heard of. Not to mention that most documentaries use 'appropriate' music for the time period so i'm a little unclear how it is defined "cliched".

  • another thing about history day, is that it is limited to 10 minutes, and it was very difficult to explain all of what he accomplished AND all the impacts they had, we did our best to bring a balance of both.

  • Thanks for this documentary! I'm fully impressed with you young guys for caring enough about Audie to do this. It's a real tribute to one of our finest Americans. 90 percent of the country don't even know who Audie is at all. I know because I talked about him often to people. Hopefully videos like this one will help make a dent in that number. Keep up the good work, guys.

  • lakejeffrey62, im not comparing myself in any way to Audie Murphy, i really have no idea where you get that from. i liked this kid's project, so im asking him or anyone else to give me some criticism on mine. i dont see how asking people for constructive comments is in any way asking for a medal of honor, so chill.

  • It should be noted that he was left to suffer once he returned from Europe, depleted and abandoned by the Military and the United States.Taken in by James Cagney(of Hollywood fame)he was taken care of.

  • @ExcaliburRFreedom

    your a F---ing idiot....Marine my ass

    PunK!

  • since Andrew Jackson never really liked paper money and he's on the 20 maybe we should take him off and put Audie on the 20.

  • Audie Murphy did some amazing things, but that probably was because he was psychotic. He had no regard for his own life and luck was on his side. His 1955 biographical movie (where the footage for this video obviously comes from), was just 10 years after the war; but I suppose he forgot what a German uniform is supposed to look like. The movie was so cheesey; they used the WW1 steel helmets for the Germans and practically no field gear. The famous battle at the end was supposed to be in winter.

  • I would have given you a thumbs up for this, if not for the music. I won't give it a thumbs down, because Audie Murphy is a true hero and you made a good attempt to honor him. I believe (IMHO) that contemporary music, from Audie's time, would have been more appropriate.

  • @goarmysinknavy You are not being realistic. It is admirable, that you strive for that (not lying), but it is not in a human being's capacity to not lie.

  • @ExcaliburRFreedom FUCK YOU

  • Excellent!! Audie Murphy has always been a hero of mine!!

I thank all of America's veterans who served and who are serving now to allow me the freedom I enjoy. Words can not express how much I owe those living and who payed the ultimate price who protected America. Thank you all.
