We Still Didn't Start The Fire

Updated version of Billy Joel's song. I wrote the verses to start from where he left off, which covers about the last 15 years. Slight Australian bias.

*nb, i know Timothy McVeigh was killed using a lethal injection, but the words electric chair fitted better

For such a self centred country it is quite interesting to see how much notice the USA takes of British pop culture in these extentions to BJ's song.

We Brits are a bit ashamed of how much we cowtow to the ol US of A.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. Sorry that the music volume changes, but I wasn't concerned so much about the quality as re-writing the lyrics. I realise that many things *could* have been included that were not. Part of this depends on the length of the song, and part on what made news in Australia - case in point: My first reaction to Iamnotresponsible's comment was "Who's Pat Tillman?" before checking out Wikipedia. :)

Very nice- of course, sadly enough- there's all kinds of things that could get added to the fire- Tonya Harding, Rodney King, Columbia space shuttle, Challenger space shuttle for that matter(don't think Billy mentioned it his song), OJ Simpson trial, 2000 US election, Oklahoma City bombing, Olympic bombing, Unabomber, Hurricane Hugo, Hurricane Katrina, Asian Tsunami of 2004, London bombings, - the fire burns on.

There are many things that could be added in, but it's not an infinite song so some got left out. Also, I'm Australian, so I've included some big media stories here that wouldn't have made news in the US. I did include the Asian tsunami (Boxing Day Tsunami (that's what it was called here) - you can see the before and after photos of Banda Aceh (in Indonesia) in the video) and the London bombing (London transport blown away - picture of a red double decker bus blown up).
