In February, I had the privilege of witnessing the launch of the space shuttle Discovery (STS-133). It was the shuttle's 39th and final mission, and the third-last of NASA's entire shuttle program. Our viewing location was a park a few miles south of Titusville, Florida (some 14 miles / 23 km from the launch pad). This video was assembled using footage from two Lumix compact digital cameras. During the launch itself, one of the cameras (an LX2, balanced awkwardly on a low rock, and left unattended) captured wide views, while I zoomed in with the other camera (a ZS5) to obtain close-up footage. Additional audio is from WIXC Radio (AM 1060). Many thanks to Chris L. for getting me there, and to Risa H. for help in post-production.
Great video Dan. Thanks for sharing it.
