I love this so much, but I wish they'd done a version with Paul on vocals. I feel like this would have been a bona fide classic instead of a cool lesser-known recording if Paul had wailed it in his Little Richard impersonation voice.
@OddFuturePineapples wow, another completely useless comment from Mr Pineapples that adds nothing to the debate. You're the one who said "I love the Beatles", not me.
Remember, the Beatles learned this song from an Elvis Presley record. In this context, performing the song on THEIR radio show is the highest form of praise, and tribute. a great version recorded on the fly in one take.
@tosh, How about some context? If you feel something is "horrific", make your point with some informed opinion. Otherwise you are obviously just trying to piss people off. This performance is tight, the guitar and vocal are fine, and Ringo is rock solid. It's an obvious tip of the hat by Lennon to Elvis, and is more than valid for that reason alone. Yes, the recording is a little thin, but like all such rarities, I'll take it, in a heartbeat.
@iTosh123 Feel sorry that you think "this is horrific" is a valid opinion. It isn't. It's just an offhand, careless, inflammatory remark that deserves to be shot down. If you don't like something, say "I don't like it" rather than "this is horrific". See the difference?

@88724Nick Feel sorry that you don't know what an opinion is and that people can have different ones. Irony at it's finest.
