@dmimcg That's not the pilot. It's the planes guidance system telling the pilots how close they are to landing and then telling them to "retard" in other words telling them to "start slowing down".
-
32L departure in the top right corner @ 8:15?
-
should have left the zoom alone...
-
How much zoom did you use on this? The landing speed seemed very slow.
-
Why is the pilot calling somebody a retard. that's not cool.
-
I agree with earlier comments. Chicago is one of the best cities I have ever had the pleasure to visit, clean and very easy..
-
@mapleavenue77 I have been to the top 5 pop. cities in this country and chicago is without a doubt the cleaniest and most eye pleasing. Hands down
-
1:35 "My pop-tarts are ready!"
-
a permanent zoom shit.
-
@weeman8777 - Yes. "The word "retard" is a reminder to pilots to bring the thrust levers to idle during the landing maneuver, known as the "flare," just prior to touchdown."
Chicago looks awesome -- it just towers over the lake.

American doesn't fly 319s, Delta didn't at the time this video was uploaded, so quite possibly United.
