On 24 and 25 May 2005, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, Professor of Economics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and senior fellow of the Ludwig von Mises Institute (Auburn, Alabama), visited Antwerp, where he gave a lecture on the economic surplus value of small states.

I would also like to point out that many government do indeed want their currency to remain inflated beyond that of other currency's in the interest of creating an export based economy by means of having an economic advantage relative to other country's. This is the policy of many Asian country including China and Japan.

The downside is the speed at which they must do this can overwhelm the ability of their own internal economy's ability to endure the destructive effects of the inflation.
