  • the vfd works good for testing a5 hp air comp puts out about 18 acfm @125 psig you got a hell of a lot more cfm than that

  • @rotarycomptech I'm not sure how much CFM I will end up with in the end but as you said its pretty impressive as it is.

  • uh-oh i heard bearings going crunch crunch! get that end pate machined!

  • @BOBKB3NZX bearings are fine, their a plane shell type like a cam shaft bearing. the high pressure oil feed keeps it safe with the minimal belt tension i had

  • that will make an wicked static show piece regardless

  • @Jaytheozzi yeah the thing has badass written all over it, I am struggling to find a place to set it up tho lol

  • That's an awesome sounding V4 but i prefer their sound when they are igniting fuel in the cylinders, lol.

  • Bitzer - russian compressors!!!

  • @bcordasco depends on the motor design.

  • Uh oh- reverse? Don't forget about the oil pump... :)

  • i laughed so hard when the belt flew off.

  • Run that from a car engine that u got lying around

  • Just wanted to mention that over 50/60Hz (depending upon your location) the motor HP starts to drop.

  • You are right, 27 amps @480 volt = 20 hp. note I said 480 volt not 440 volt over the 15 to 20 years the voltage has gone from 440 to 460 to 480 I have recorded voltage in the feild as high as 496 volt in Florida US. Its to bad the bitzer comp didnt come with head unloaders. If you are going to use the diesel There is a valve called all-in-one valve for comps runing continuously with out head unloaders it vents the discharge to atmosphere when desired pressure is met. have fun with this project

  • @Aussie50 good to hear, have any ideas for when the end plate will get machined
