  • Hello The wings are made of aluminium and the hub was bought at a trailer store. four bolt patern. If you consider making one I would suggest doing a 48 volt system and use an Outback charge controler which you can set it for 12,24, or 48 volt battery Bank. If you decide to make one I will give you the recipe for it.

  • Hi alain it's worth building but you need high winds all the time which I have down here. It takes quite a while to build. so buying is better. The Tower you saw is going up with a Skystream 3.7 and going to be Grid tied.Waiting for all the red tape from the goverment to come thru. They have stringent Rules. I hope this answer some of your Questions. Yours truly Richard

  • Very nice. I was wondering if I could get the plans for this?

  • @4591rotcod Hi this setup comprises of 12 coils 70 turns per coils #15 wire double strands 32 Magnets on 12Inch rotorsX2 This setup is made for 24volts but I'm using it in a 12 volts system for now. the stator is 15 inch in diameter to give you room for the bolts to secure the stator. Anymore Questions feel free. Richard

  • has any one evr considerd heating with windmills, storing that energy in batteries and converting it to usable ac is wastefull, you loose about 40% of the energy, but if you heat your home with it a small electric heater could run on these or water could be heated and stored

  • @ricbourque2 How to videos are basically what a lot of people are looking for. I have a lot of left over alternators here, so going 12v is something I really should do. I basically want to either have free lights or free heat in my garage.. lights is probably a possibility. Wish we could see some more details of the turbine build itself, and what materials was used.

  • @4591rotcod The plans for a Lenz II are on the Windstuffnow. website. He also has plans there for an 8 inch alternator. You do need decent wind to really get anything out of them though. Otherwise your better off spending the money on solar.

  • How large is the turbine?

  • hi, what is the gauge of the galvanized sheet? or did you use stainless? and did you use an old car brake rotor? i'm really considering building one.

  • Hi Rick!!!

After couples month of observation of your turbine, what is your conclusion???

Is it worth building it,or,are we better buy an already made turbine???

I want to know where you are up to with your turbine...

Even if you put it on a 12v battery bank....Does it takes less wind to work then the conventionals wind turbine?????

I see in your first vid that you got another section of tour,do you plan to elevate your turbinewith the other section????

    So many question to ask!!!!!!

    Thanks

    Alain
